Zone Summer FAQ

What is Zone Summer?

Zone Summer 2024 will be in June next year. Dates are TBD. Check back for more details soon!

Zone Summer is a five-day experience for your 1st-6th graders. It includes a dynamic, Broadway-style live production, energetic worship, large-scale demonstrations with biblical teaching, games, crafts, snacks, outdoor activities, and more.

It’s all happening at the Lutz location from 8:30 AM to 12:30 PM, with the All Day option available at the Lutz and South Tampa locations.

What is Zone Summer All Day?

Want to extend the Zone Summer Experience for your kiddo? The All Day option is available at an additional cost from 7 AM to 6 PM at multiple locations. It includes lunch, snacks, and interactive activities. All Day will take place at the Lutz and South Tampa locations. The South Tampa location will bus to and from Lutz every morning and afternoon.

What is the cost?

Early Bird Price: $65 (half day), $300 (all day) Jan 1 - May 7
Regular Cost: $75 (half day), $310 (all day) May 8 - June 11
Final Cost: $85 (half day), $320 (all day) June 12 (Day of)

What Should My Child Wear/Bring to Zone Summer?

A must: Their name tag, and comfortable clothes/shoes.

A plus: Their Zone Summer backpack, given on day 1 of the event, a Zone lanyard with pins for trading, an extra snack, and a water bottle (with their name on it) if desired.

*A snack and water will be provided during the Half Day event, but some kids may want to have another on hand. We cannot accommodate allergies or preferences.

**All Day may have specific requests based on activities. Those will be emailed prior to the event.

What parent pick up safety procedures will be followed?

If you registered before June 1, you will receive a wristband with a unique code on in that your child must wear during the event. A matching parent pick-up card will be provided for each registrant and will be required to show at pick up. We highly encourage that you take a photo of this card in case of loss and share it with any other adult that may be picking up your child during the week.

If you register on June 1 or after, you can pick up your name tags on the first day of Zone Summer at the drop-off location you have selected on your registration form.

What if there is an emergency and I need to get a hold of my child?

If there is an emergency, you many call the Zone Summer Emergency Line at (813)-358-5935 and you will be able to speak with a Zone Summer staff member.

My child will be in 1st grade this next school year, are they able to attend?

Yes! Children entering 1st grade in the 2023-2024 school year are welcome to attend.

My child will be entering 6th grade this next school year, are they able to attend?

Yes! Children entering 6th grade in the 2023-2024 school year are welcome to attend.

How can I donate to Zone Summer 2023?

Our heart is for every student to be able to attend Zone Summer 2023, and we cannot accomplish this without generous givers. Every donation means more students may experience one of the biggest events we do all year. Not only does the financial aid fund help bridge the gap between what Grace Family Church invests in day camp and what parents pay, helping to keep camp affordable for everyone, but it also allows us to provide partial and full scholarships to students who would not be able to afford their enrollment.

Is there financial aid or scholarships available?

Our heart is for every student to be able to attend Zone Summer 2023, we don’t want cost to be the reason a student can’t attend and we want to help. Please apply for financial aid here.

General Info / Lutz Half Day FAQ

General Information

Zone Summer 4-Day Experience - Lutz Half Day

Dates: June 10-13, 2024

Half Day Venue: Lutz Location, 5101 Van Dyke Road Lutz, FL 33558

Half Day Times:

08:00 AM check-in/will-call start
08:30 AM drop off start
09:00 AM event start
12:05 PM parent arrival for pick up begins
12:30 PM event end

Half Day Inclusions:

Half day program (at Lutz location only), snack and water

What to Bring:

Water bottle with name, backpack with name, extra snack

Seating/Group Assignment:

Children will be assigned to a row and tour guide leader and will need to be sat in the same place every day. Children will stay with the same group throughout the duration of the day. Prior to the event, parents will receive an email with their child’s assigned row and tour guide leader. Requests to be placed with friends who are in the same age group can be made on the registration form.

Pick up and Drop off Procedures - Lutz Half Day

08:00 AM - check in/will call start
08:30 AM - drop off start
09:00 AM - event start
12:05 PM - parent arrival for pick up begins
12:30 PM - event end

Drop off begins at 8:30 AM. No child should be dropped off and left unattended before then.

Please be sure your child is wearing their wristband before drop off. Parents/guardians may drop their child off in the car line or park and walk in with their child. Parents are only allowed to enter the lobby area during drop off.

At pick up, parents/guardians are required to park and enter the Lutz main lobby. The Lutz lobby doors open at 12:05 PM. Parent/gaurdians are welcome to watch the production from the tiered parent section. Pick up will begin at 12:30 PM. To ensure safety, parents/guardians must bring the matching parent pick up card or show a photo of it. Please send photo of the parent card to anyone who will be picking up your child during the week.

Lost/Broken Wristband: Before Drop off please see the Check in/Will Call to be issued a new one. At pick up please see staff in the sanctuary near the exit doors.

What if I arrive late? - Lutz Half Day

Children who arrive past 9:50 AM will need to be dropped off at the Information Station in the main lobby so they can be escorted to their correct group.

What if I need to pick up early? - Lutz Half Day

Early pick up is only available until 11:30 AM. Parents/guardians who need to pick up their child early from Zone Summer Half Day can head to the Information Station, located in the Lutz main lobby and we will arrange pick up for your child.

What if my child requires medication during the event?

Please print and fill out the Medication Form. Place it inside a gallon ziplock bag with the medication. Medication MUST be dropped off to the Nurse the morning of the event by a parent and cannot be brought by the child. Medication must be picked up by the end of Zone Summer.

What if my child has special dietary needs?

We are unable to accomodate special requests. Children are welcome to bring a snack and a drink as necessary.

Where is the Lost & Found? - Lutz Half Day

Lost & Found will be located in the main lobby of the Lutz location and is accessible during drop off and pick up each day.

All Access FAQ

All Access General Information

All Access is available from 7 AM to 5 PM and extends the Zone Summer 4-Day Experience from a half day to a full day.

All Access Locations: Lutz, Carrollwood, Land O' Lakes, South Tampa, and Temple Terrace

Inclusions: Transportation to and from the Lutz half day event (not including Lutz), light breakfast, snacks, full lunch, exclusive activities, and afternoon Zone experience.

What time is drop off and pick up for All Access?

All Access drop off begins at 7 AM at all locations.

For locations with transportation, children must be dropped off by 8:00 AM.

If you will be dropping off later than 8:00 AM you must drop your child off at the Lutz location.

All Access pick up will end promptly at 5:00 PM at all locations.

Pick up start times will vary based on daily schedules. Schedules will be sent out in early June.

What if my child loses their wristband?

Please see All Access check in staff to receive a new wristband. You will be asked to provide parent ID for verification.

Volunteer FAQ

Who can volunteer at Zone Summer?

Current Zone volunteers, students in 7th Grade and up, and adults who are a part of Grace Family Church are welcome to apply to volunteer.

What is required of a Zone Summer volunteer?

Leading and investing in groups of 7-10 children from approximately 8:30 AM - 12:30 PM for 4 days.

Attending the Zone Summer Volunteer meeting on Thursday May 30, 2024 at 6:30 PM at the Lutz location.

Arriving at the Lutz location at 7:45 AM daily for the Volunteer Team Huddle.
